John leads firmwide strategy, capital deployment, and portfolio oversight at Avant Communities. With over 35 years of institutional real estate experience, he has managed national portfolios exceeding $10 billion across multiple asset classes and market cycles.

Prior to Avant, John served as Head of Retail Asset Management at AEW Capital Management, overseeing portfolio strategy, acquisitions, financing, and dispositions. Earlier, he held financial leadership roles at Berkshire Realty, managing budgeting and performance reporting across 70+ multifamily assets nationwide.

John holds an MBA from Suffolk University, a BA in Finance, and an AS in Accounting and Management from Bentley College.

Michael leads investment sourcing, strategic partnerships, and fundraising at Avant Communities. He brings over 15 years of institutional private equity and family office investment experience, having executed $4.2 billion in real estate transactions and managed a national portfolio of $11.8 billion, including 34,000+ housing units.

Prior to Avant, Michael served as VP and CIO at Crowe Capital Management, with previous roles at AEW Capital Management, Partners Group, and Hunt Companies. He is also a published contributor to the Urban Land Institute (ULI).

Michael holds an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management, dual BAs in Economics and Philosophy from Boston College, and a Real Estate Finance & Development Certificate from MIT.

Bo oversees portfolio management and operational execution at Avant Communities, with responsibility for asset allocation, risk management, fundraising, and investment performance. He has directly deployed over $228 million in capital commitments and managed a $10 billion diversified alternatives portfolio as a private equity portfolio manager.

Prior to Avant, Bo served as Director of Investments for a family office managing a $1 billion portfolio and consulted on transactions spanning commercial real estate, life sciences, technology, and entertainment.

Bo holds an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management and BBAs in Finance, Accounting, and International Business from the University of Oklahoma.

Sean oversees Avant's financial strategy, capital formation, and modeling and forecasting initiatives. His approach to real estate is grounded in operational precision; translating complex opportunities into clear, executable investment roadmaps.

Prior to Avant, Sean spent a decade at AEW Capital Management, directly managing over $1 billion in real estate assets. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Senior Associate covering private equity, global banking, and real estate.

Sean holds a CFA designation, a CPA license, and a degree in Finance from Penn State University.

Gaelan advises Avant Communities on operational infrastructure, financial planning and analysis, and investor reporting. Drawing on extensive experience working with private family offices, each uniquely structured, he brings a nuanced understanding of how to create transparency, clarity, and consistency across a diverse investor base.

His background building institutional-grade technical systems gives Avant a distinct edge in how we communicate performance and manage reporting at scale. Gaelan currently serves as CIO at Global Income Investments and Managing Director at Vantage Capital Investments, and previously served as CTO at Crowe Capital Management.

Gaelan holds an MBA from the University of Washington Foster School of Business and degrees in Architecture and Digital Media from the University of Oregon.
